I'm Rita G., the breeder behind Gaus Hof located in Buckingham, IL. Home raised, fully health tested parents, AKC Champions. Healthy, happy parent dogs. Puppies are vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. AKC registered. We do Fastcat, temperament test, scent work and other performance. Pre spoiled puppies.

Why did you start breeding?
I used to train German Shepherds and started breeding them in 1999, when we had an accidental litter. It was such a wonderful experience. Later I fell in love with the American Hairless Terrier and decided to show in conformation and do performance like racing, scent work, or trick dog. My goal is to produce healthy puppies that are built to the breed Standard and also have great temperament.What makes your program special?

Our puppies include blue tan and white, lilac dilute, black tan and white, black and tan, red and white, white and chocolate, and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Rita has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Merida is the most loving dog of all, she snuggles and likes to nuzzle on toes. She is beautiful, very driven and yet a great guard dog too. She is a wonderful mother, had 10 puppies in her first litter and handled it liike a pro. She is going to start scent work lessons and I'm convinced she will do great. Schnitzel is perfect. She is great at home, loves to work, she does racing, scent work and she is just plain fun. She has very good hunting drives and at home she is well behaved. She is smart, she has alerted us of a fire in the house and also alerted when one of our other dogs had a seizure. She is also very loving and loves to cuddle and go on trips.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Serum Bile Acid Test, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), Brucellosis, Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
