Q. & A. with Kelsey
Why did you start breeding?
My journey into breeding began with a love for the Doxie breed.I instantly fell in love with their personality.I realized how passionate I was about the breed. In 2024, after research, I took the leap & started my program. It began small & intentional. With a focus on quality, not quantity. We’ve since begun expanding into mini Aussies, another breed we adore for their intelligence & sweet nature.
What makes your program special?
At the heart of our breeding program is a deep love for our dogs. We’re not a kennel—we’re a home. All of our puppies are raised right alongside us.This family-style environment creates confident, well-socialized puppies. We take our time with each litter, focusing on quality over quantity. Health is a top priority—our dogs are vet-checked, kept up to date on care, and bred responsibly.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Dottie
She’s the heartbeat of Ironwood Creek.
A true lover at heart, she greets the world with gentle eyes and a wagging tail, always ready to share her joy. Loyal to the core, she’s never far from our side—whether we’re walking the creek, tending the land, or simply sitting in the quiet. Playful and full of spark, she turns every leaf pile into a game and every moment into a memory. She’s not just a dog—she’s our best friend, our shadow, our sunshine. Social and spirited, she charms everyone she meets, from tiny hands to old souls. And when it’s time to run, she runs like the wind—free, fearless, and full of life.

I’d been looking for a dachshund puppy for a little while. Every time I found one, something didn’t work out—either they were way too expensive or the person selling them lived too far away.
Then, I found this puppy on GoodDog, and he was perfect. He was the cutest little thing ever, and the price was actually good. I messaged Ms. Kelsey right away, and she answered super fast. She was very nice and said she could meet me at a good place and time that worked best for us. I was extremely happy and excited that I had finally found the puppy for me.
When I met Ms. Kelsey, the puppy was even cuter in person. He was tiny, full of energy, and when I got to hold him for the first time he immediately started licking my face like he already knew he was coming home with me. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole way home.
After all that searching, I’d finally found my puppy—and he was totally worth the wait. Every time he cuddles or follows me around the house I’m so thankful for the opportunity Ms. Kelsey gave me.

Kelsey was very helpful throughout the whole process. She was flexible with finding a meeting spot for pickup that worked for both of us. I loved how she sent a care package home with us, it was full of the puppy’s information, treats, puppy food, and some of the puppy’s belonging so he has something that smells like home! I am so glad I decided to work with her to find the perfect addition to my family.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
