I'm Barbara L., the breeder behind Magnum Shiba Inus located in Lynnwood, WA. Just 20 miles North of Seattle, we enjoy AKC Conformation and Performance Sports with our Shiba Inus. We have litters occasionally, planning the best breeding with the intention of keeping a show or event prospect. Quietly Progressive since 1992.
Q. & A. with Barbara
Why did you start breeding?
I began showing and training dogs, at the age of 12, in a dog 4-H Club. This passion has never left. In 1992, I saw my first Shiba Inu. I was taken by their fox like look, high intelligence, cleanliness and cat-like behavior. After acquiring and showing my first Shiba Inu's, I wanted to move forward with a show puppy of my own breeding. This is how it all began.
What makes your program special?
I have very few litters, only breeding when my intention is to keep a puppy for my future show or event prospect. My dogs are members of my family, first and foremost.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, red, black and tan, and sesame. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

About Fiona
Fiona is a loving, athletic, loyal member of our family. She is a beautifully marked Black and Tan, with an outstanding pedigree. Fiona does not like the Conformation show ring, however, she excels in the AKC Performance Sports. Especially FAST CAT, and other lure coursing events. Her natural prey drive is evident during these competitions and she exudes happiness.

We enjoyed working with Barbara immensely. Our puppy was almost house broken when we took him home, and he's a very calm, confident dog. Barbara helped us with things like finding puppy food, and investigating training facilities. She was always timely with her responses, and provided us with everything we could ask for. We would wholeheartedly recommend Barbara to anyone wanting a nice Shiba puppy. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, or a nicer person to work with.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
