How the process works of becoming a Good Breeder

All breeders listed on Good Dog are vetted by our team to ensure they meet our standards before their profile goes live. Here’s how it works.

by Good Dog

Good Dog’s standards are focused on health and behavior and they were developed with support from leading dog welfare and veterinary experts. All breeders listed on Good Dog are vetted by our team to ensure they meet these standards.

The first step in our process is to fill out a short questionnaire so we can learn more about you, your program, and your dogs in preparation for an evaluation call with a member of our team. You will be taken directly to the questionnaire after signing up, but if needed — you can always access the form from the checklist on the “Overview” page in your dashboard.

Once you’ve signed up and completed the questionnaire, you’ll have access to the Good Dog breeder dashboard. Your profile will not be live until you have spoken to a member of our team and we have reviewed your information. Our team members have your phone number from your account information and will reach out as quickly as possible.

While we complete this screening process, we encourage you to fill out your profile in your account so you’ll be ready to go live on our site if your program is approved for recognition.

We know that there is no single best way to be a responsible breeder and that your answers to our questions may vary depending on a variety of factors. Please feel free to explain your responses and know that you’ll have time to elaborate and ask further questions during your phone interview.

If you have any questions, you can always reach us at help@gooddog.com. We’re really looking forward to getting to know you better!
