    Embarking on a journey fueled by passion, I found my way into the world of breeding Shih Tzu dogs. It all began with a profound love for these charming companions and a desire to share their joy with others. Drawn to their affectionate nature and distinctive charm, I immersed myself in learning about the breed's nuances, health, and well-being. Guided by a commitment to responsible breeding practices, I decided to channel my enthusiasm into creating happy, healthy Shih Tzu puppies.

Our puppies are placed in carefully selected, loving pet homes only, and are not intended for breeding purposes. We do not offer breeding rights, as our focus is solely on raising Shih Tzus to be happy, healthy family companions. Beyond adoption, our commitment endures — offering ongoing support to create lasting bonds. Welcome to a breeding program where passion meets purpose, and every Shih Tzu becomes a treasured member of the family. Please note: For the health and safety of both our puppies and their future families, we do not adopt out to individuals or households with known or suspected dog allergies — even to those who are only mildly allergic or seeking hypoallergenic breeds. While Shih Tzus are often described as low-shedding and more allergy-friendly, they are not truly hypoallergenic, and allergic reactions may still occur. We kindly ask all potential adopters to ensure that no one in the home has a sensitivity to dogs before moving forward with the adoption process.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black gold and white, red and white, and brindle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Hang

Hang has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices range from $3,500 - $3,800 and include a non-refundable deposit of $800.

“Price is firmed and non-negotiable. We want to make this a stress free enjoyable experience for you. We will keep you up to date with information about your puppy as it grows until it is time for your puppy to go to its new home. A $800 non-refundable puppy reservation fee secures your place in line for one of our adorable Shih Tzu puppies, guaranteeing your commitment to welcome a new furry family member. This fee is a testament to the seriousness of your intent and is deducted from the total adoption fee. The remaining balance is due on the day of puppy pick-up, ensuring a seamless transition and the beginning of a lifelong bond with your new Shih Tzu companion. Unless there is a problem with the health of your puppy. In that case, the buyer will have their choice of a full refund or of transferring that deposit toward another puppy.”

    Hang is an amazing and ethical breeder! She truly cares about her shih tzu’s, Willow and Odie. From the moment I contacted her, it was evident that her dedication to the well-being of her dogs was inspiring. Hang has really set a high standard for what I would define as ethical breeding practices, genuine care, and transparency. We were able to talk via Zoom and even meet our puppy in person before putting down a deposit. She would also send us videos and pictures until pickup day! Hang also provided a complete binder with all our puppy’s vaccine records, a what to expect booklet, a puppy training booklet, and his AKC certificate and his AKC family lineage certificate! We also received a bag of puppy food, his favorite toys, blankets, and even new toys and supplies in a cute basket. He was already pee-pad trained! Even after pickup, Hang reached out to check-in on how things were going and told us to not hesitate to reach out to her if we ever had any questions or needed advice. I wholeheartedly recommend Hang to anyone seeking a furry shih tzu companion. You'll not only find a wonderful new furry family member but also gain a lifelong ally in your journey as a pet owner.

    Bay Area Shih Tzu, run by Hang Tran and her husband were awesome to work with on adopting a new Shih Tzu puppy! My husband and I could really tell they genuinely love and care about the breed. From the start of working with her, Hang was available and open to questions, usually responding within an hour of messaging her and she provided great periodic updates about the growth and personality of our puppy, Pearl. We met in-person at a location in-between San Francisco and San Jose for our puppy pick up and Hang provided us a binder of the AKC certification information, a new puppy owner guide, a puppy starter kit, and wonderful advice. Since bringing Pearl home at around 9-10 weeks, she’s been amazing! She is already pretty well potty trained, had a super healthy diagnosis at her check-up with the vet, and within my husband’s and my first week with her, she now knows how to sit, settle, and go to her carrier (which she loves!). Although we love Pearl’s original name, we renamed her Spike because she was the only girl of the litter (playfully “bullying” her brothers) and she’s super sharp/smart! We love her so much!! I would highly recommend learning from Hang and working with her if you’re interested in adopting a Shih Tzu 🐶❤️
