Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Camden's Caring Canines located in Camden, IN. Our pets are healthy, happy, well trained, and much loved. Our pups are from exceptional bloodlines, chosen for excellent health and beautiful confirmation. Our goal is to breed and train polite, obedient canine companions. Our dogs are known for their intelligence and ease in training and for their calm, companionable personalities. We train our adults; and many of our adult dogs have their Canine Good Citizen Title. We have bred quality labs for over ten years and have many, many, satisfied dog owners. We are a very small kennel, inspected and approved by AKC, with only a few litters a year. Our dogs are our pets and get lots of love and attention from us and our children. We look forward to talking to you! Due to a change in circumstances, we are no longer breeding Cavaliers-we love the breed, but have chosen to focus on our labs.

Q. & A. with Deann

  • Why did you start breeding?

My brother gave our son a chocolate lab for his birthday in 2008, and we fell in love with labs. Our daughter, of course, wanted her own dog, and our love of labs and our breeding story began with those two wonderful labs-Trooper and Nicki.
  • What makes your program special?

We focus on healthy, champion bloodlines, with a special focus on trainability and personable temperaments. We have an interest in therapy/service dogs and we are involved with Canines for Christ Therapy Dogs. We spend time with our puppies from the moment they are born. They get early neurological stimulation, many different types of socialization, and a strong dedication to their health and well-being. We are a support to our families from the time they contact us through the life of their puppy. We welcome you into our puppy family.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Deann was wonderful to work with from beginning to end, and the communication/payment through Good Dog couldn't have been easier. Deann's litters are just as advertised, good looking and healthy. You can tell it is a well run breeding establishment as soon as you step foot on the property. We couldn't be happier with our pup Mabel, she is playful, loving and SMART! We are so glad she is part of our family.

I am so very thankful to have met Deann on Good Dog! From the moment you talk her to meeting her in person, she is very responsive, kind, helpful, genuine, and so supportive and thoughtful when bringing one of her puppies home. I can’t say enough great things about Deann! Our puppy Kam (Turbo), has been such a wonderful puppy! By night 4 he had adjusted so well he has been sleeping all night in his crate! You can tell Deann and her family take so much time with the puppies with just how well socialized they are and how well behaved. Kam is a perfect puppy and absolutely beautiful! He has the best temperament and my family and I have just enjoyed him so much! If we ever get another puppy we will always go back to Deann! She is the absolute best! She sent us home with a goodie bag full of items for Kam that would make his transition to his new home go seamlessly. Thank you so much Deann for your thoughtfulness and all that you do for your puppies! It has been such a pleasure working with you and we love Kam so much!!

Deann was wonderful to work with during our process of waiting for Hunny to be ready to come home and all the way up to picking up our new baby! Hunny has adjusting quite well with her 3 fur siblings and all our her new people too! Deann was responsive and knowledgable throughout the whole process. We were sent home with all her papers, some extra food, and we had plenty of time to ask questions also.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Deann while searching for a labrador retriever puppy, and couldn’t be more impressed. From our first conversation, it was clear her whole family is passionate about the breed and dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized dogs. The facilities were clean with plenty of room for the dogs to play and interact. Deann provided thorough health records, including vaccinations and testing results, which gave us great peace of mind. We also appreciated her willingness to answer all of our questions and provide updates while we waited for our puppy to be ready to come home. When we were struggling choosing our pup, Deann’s school age son told us “which ever one you chose will be the one you’ll love the most”. It was so sweet and sensitive and exactly what we needed to hear at that moment. Our new Labrador has an amazing temperament—friendly, intelligent, and eager to please—and it’s clear he came from a responsible and loving environment. We wholeheartedly recommend Camden Caring Canines to anyone looking for a Labrador Retriever. They truly go above and beyond to ensure their dogs are happy, healthy, and ready to become beloved members of the family.

Deann was awesome to work with. She called and talked about the puppies after we showed an interest and explained the process. Throughout the process, she sent pics and updates so we could watch the puppies grow until we were able to come and pick out our new addition. When it came time to pick out our pup, she was very accommodating on us coming out to pick our puppy. On go home day, Deann had a bag of goodies for us and asked us to keep in touch. We will definitely keep in touch so Deann can see Enola and Oakley grow up.
