I'm Anna G., the breeder behind Akaya Italian Greyhounds located in Portland, OR. I'm a Preservation Breeder who strives to produce the best puppies possible. I research pedigrees intensely to find the best match to continue to improve my lines. Producing healthy, stable dogs is my top priority while continuing to improve on structure and conformation to meet the breed standard.
Q. & A. with Anna
Why did you start breeding?
I started showing dogs when I was 16 with a not so great dog. I found myself a mentor in the breed and spent 8 years showing my dogs and learning everything I could from my mentors, including everything about breeding, learning how to research pedigrees, and about how to properly evaluate a dog. I finally decided to start breeding to preserve Italian Greyhounds and improve the breed where I could.
What makes your program special?
I raise all of my dogs with Puppy Culture to produce the best temperaments. I fully health test for everything possible in the breed and will always support the people who have my dogs. I keep in contact with puppy buyers and am always able to offer support. My dogs are structurally sound and great representations of the breed.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
