Meet the breeder

I'm Candace T., the breeder behind Allegheny McNab Shepherds located in Pittsburgh, PA. All dogs are health tested through Embark and OFA. All breeding dogs are tested on stock. Puppies are raised with a strict socialization program along with ENS, ESI, vet checked, first set of vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. Temperament tested, started on crate training, started on basic obedience, and started on potty training.

Q. & A. with Candace

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up watching my grandparents breed German Shepherds and I always loved the experience of being able to help. Now as an adult I want to take the knowledge I’ve learned and help make sure my breed (the McNab) is around for generations through ethical breeding practices.
  • What makes your program special?

We have a strong emphasis on raising mentally stable and athletic dogs who can do it all. I know dogs will face a lot in their lives and setting them and their families up for success starts with the breeder. We strive to breed and raise mentally and physically sound dogs, dogs who live long, are intelligent, thinkers, & good drive.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include tri-colored, brown and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
