Meet the breeder

I'm Angela A., the breeder behind Allen Wags & Woolies located in Fair Grove, MO. Our beloved dogs are bred with genetics, temperament, guardian traits and health soundness our top priority. If they are not a true, honest, healthy specimen of their Breed standard they do not participate in our breeding program to preserve the heritage of their breed, but yet exclusively remain a vital part of our pack/family and serve our farm doing what they thrive and love to do: guard our sheep, goats and our family. Whether they breed and/or guard, each and every one of them are a part of a whole. The offspring we are blessed with will only go to very hand-picked families/farms, with each prospective family being very carefully chosen to make perfect matches for each individual puppy. It is our practice to maintain a relationship with not only the new families but also with each puppy, no matter how far their journey takes them. It is a lifetime responsibility from the moment they take their first breathe and throughout their entire lifetimes.

Q. & A. with Angela

  • Why did you start breeding?

My Great Pyrenees are guardians on our farm and are such a huge part of my heart and life. I hope to help preserve the breed, which is continually getting watered down with irresponsible breeding practices & designer breeding. I also hope to help people realize the importance of researching breed-specific traits before adopting or purchasing any breed, in hopes fewer of them will end up in shelters.
  • What makes your program special?

My Pyrs are my family. My heart. They aren’t a part of my farm & family because they breed. Or because they guard. They are a part of a whole and that whole, is my life. I would never re-home one because they were “used up” or because they can no longer breed or work. I love them and that love is unconditional. My program is about doing everything I possibly can by fully health testing all of my breeding dogs and raising our litters from the moment they are born with nothing but their well-being at heart, to ensure they are healthy, sound, well socialized and abundantly loved and are only placed with families that recognize this and will honor their new family member in the same responsible, loyal and loving ways.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

It was a wonderful experience! Angela is so great at keeping you informed, & sending weekly pics of puppies! She’s a wonderful, responsible breeder, & would definitely not hesitate to get another puppy from her! Ours already is basically potty trained, & sleeps thru the night! It’s amazing how much work she puts into her pups!!!

I must say Angela from Allen Wags and Woolies is the absolute best breeder out there. I would definitely say she is a unicorn of breeders. She is truly dedicated to making sure that not only does the pups succeed but she also gives you a ton of important information on the GP breed to help us succeed as well. She is so dedicated that Angela slept in the same room as the mommy and new borns every night. Angela sent updates weekly and was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. She makes herself available for the life of your new family member. She truly cares about all of the offspring that come from her pack family. She loves so much and you can see it in the pups. I thank you Angela for my perfect Miss Eliza Doolittle Quintana. She's absolutely perfect. She's helped mend our broken hearts from losing our Luna Rae. She has brought us so much joy already. Quick learner and love our chickens and food she loves food. She absolute loves Figment and copies everything she does, I love it. If you are looking for the perfect pup from the perfect breeders Angela from Allen Wags and Woolies is the breeder for you. A true unicorn. When you leave with your pup you become family. At least we left knowing that Angela is family. I couldn't have asked for a better breeder that cares. She sent us home with food, water, treats, chew toys, stuffed toys, and most importantly for the ride home a blanket with mommy, litter mates and grandma scent. And her package with all the important paperwork needed. Again we can't thank you enough Angela. We love Miss Eliza Doolittle Quintana so much and promise to love and take care of her and give her the best life possible.

Angela is the singular best breeder I’ve worked with through the years. She is invested in the future of her dogs in a way that transcends typical breeder “transactions.” Angela’s place is immaculate and her dogs are divine, and working. You can feel the connection between her entire herd and herself and the puppies she produces are socialized and prepared for their lives. Angela is available as a source of info and inspiration throughout the life of your puppy into their adult years and that relationship is invaluable. She *knows* her dogs and with LGDs that’s worth everything. Allow Angela to match you to a dog, it is where she shines the most. Be honest and upfront about every part of your life and any hesitations and you’ll end up with a best friend and protector like you never imagined possible.

I’m so thankful to have found Angela and her profile using the Good Dog app just a few weeks ago! I was hesitant about downloading another app to search for Pyr pups but it was definitely worth it. Angela set up her profile to incude numerous videos and photos of current litter availability plus past litters, breeding pairs, and detailed information about each breeding dam and sire including all health care testing and genetic testing outcomes. Angela spends time with her litters beginning them on basic obedience training, acclimating them to car rides, etc, and it shows. I chose JoJo for adoption and during the one week that JoJo and I have been together, I am amazed at her level of intelligence, calm demeanor, and leash and car adaptability that she already displays. Angela provided me with numerous informative printouts regarding tips on feeding, time table for spaying, positive reinforcement training, and more. She has also shown her eagerness to answer any questions that I might have via text or email as well as an ongoing interest in JoJo's well-being. As Angela is out of Missouri and I live in Alabama, she was willing to meet me halfway when the day finally arrived that JoJo was ready to be weaned and I could take possession. I can't say enough about how helpful Angela and her Good Dog app profile were in finding my newest family furball!

I have the best dog because of Angela. Boudicca is a little over a year now, and she continues to amaze, and delight, vet staff and trainers alike (and me, of course). Angela sets her puppies, and their new families, up for success. Both genetically with all the health testing of parents she does, as well as mentally and emotionally by following the behavioural science behind puppy culture. Boudicca came to me a well adjusted, bright, cheerful, puppy who was already mostly house trained by the time I brought her home. Angela has continued to be a source of support, she’s not pushy for updates but does happily receive them, and has helped with any questions I’ve had along the way. If you’re looking for a Pyrenees, I would highly recommend going through Angela! You’ll end up an absolutely fantastic dog if you do.
