Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer P., the breeder behind Ambitious Acres Kennels located in Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA. Since 2021, we’ve been breeding GSPs and sharing our passion. As a small family kennel, our dogs live in our home and puppies are raised with love for 8 weeks. All adults are health tested (genetic, hips, elbows, heart, eyes) to ensure the healthiest puppies possible.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

Growing up, my grandma was an exceptional Toy Poodle breeder who ran a reputable kennel and truly loved her dogs. From an early age, I learned how to properly care for both puppies and their mothers, gaining hands-on experience that shaped my approach today. When our family fell in love with our first German Shorthaired Pointer, we knew we wanted to continue that tradition and share her incredible line with other families.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is special because we are truly hands-on breeders. All four members of our family help provide the love and care our dogs deserve every day. While we understand that health clearances cannot guarantee a perfectly healthy dog, we do everything possible to give our puppies the best start in life. We go the extra mile by testing all of our adult dogs to help ease concerns and promote overall health and well-being.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include liver and white, black and white, black roan, and liver roan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in a kennel on my property.

Families are welcome to select their puppy in person, through FaceTime, or via videos and text messaging so you can find the perfect match.”
