Meet the breeder

I'm Crystal W., the breeder behind Anoka County MN AKC Chihuahuas located in Anoka, MN. We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies. All of the dogs I breed are my personal pets. Prices vary among each litter based on who the parents are, puppy gender and any special characteristics. All of my puppies come from champion lines and are AKC (American Kennel Club) registered. All puppies come vet checked (with supporting paperwork), with a 1-year health guarantee (for life threatening congenital defects), first shots and will be dewormed. I do not believe in charting adult weight. Charting adult weight has no scientific accuracy and is in my opinion fraudulent marketing. I can give estimates of size based on the parents and past litters. I do not work with buyers who make unrealistic requests about size and weight. Pets are family members who deserve unconditional love so I don’t believe in catering to conditional requests. I’ve had puppies from the same litter weigh 2 pounds and 8 pounds respectfully. The puppies I sell are meant to go from my family to yours and be treated as part of your family for the duration of their lives which can be a long time as Chihuahua’s have long life expectancies.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My beloved pug/jack russell (Binky) died in 2018. My remaining dog Paco (chihuahua) was left heartbroken and brotherless. So I decided to buy Rico (sire) to be his new brother. Rico was so cute I decided I wanted to breed him so it went from there! There is a much longer story about how I became breeder on my facebook page called Anoka County MN Chihuahuas.   • What makes your program special?

    All of my dogs are AKC pet registered and come from champion bloodlines (I will include printed copies of their pedigrees with all the other paperwork when picking up your puppy). Their parents have each had individual full Embark for Breeder DNA Panels. This includes testing for 245+ genetic health conditions.   • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate and white, chocolate and tan, blue and white, black and white, black and tan, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Crystal

Crystal has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Crystal partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $1,100 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 1-year health guarantee, AKC registration, 5 generation pedigree for the puppies parents, puppy starter bag with food and other supplies to get started, licensed veterinarian health clearance, dewormer and first shots. Non-refundable unless seller backs out due to unforeseen medical issue with the reserved puppy. Deposits are typically 50% of puppy cost unless otherwise noted.”

Crystal may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     This was my first time seeking a chi puppy through a breeder online. Crystal is great! She’s always quick to respond to messages.     Crystal has been so helpful and informative every step of the way in this process. She has educated me on the breed, feeding schedule, vet check ups, potty routines… every detail she can answer.
