I'm Donna W., the breeder behind Ashir Kennels located in St. Charles, IL. We focus on intentional breeding for our next generation. Our goal is to produce puppies that will preserve old blood lines while being capable of performing their intended purpose. Equally important for us is to place pups with responsible owners who understand a dog is a lifetime commitment. We are responsible breeders who are passionate about our dogs! They’re central to our lives, and we are proud of their accomplishments. We enjoy participating in many dog events and staying involved in the breed. Please note that because Lurcher and Saluki puppies need to run daily to develop properly, WE PREFER NOT TO SELL PUPPIES TO PEOPLE WHOSE PRIMARY RESIDENCE IS AN APARTMENT, CONDO OR TOWNHOUSE THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN ADJOINING FENCED YARD.

Price

“Our breeding program is a hobby. We do not seek to make a profit, our puppy prices are determined by dividing the total of our out-of-pocket expenses related to each litter by the number of puppies in the litter. The deposit is refundable only if we cannot provide you with a puppy. We do not guarantee that we can provide you with a puppy of a particular gender or color.”
Contract & health guarantee
Donna may provide a written contract or
health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps
protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you
both have a clear understanding of the terms of your

or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them.

Ace's sire is "Seeker" and his dam is "Fly". He is a linebred dog on old English bloodlines with outcrosses to working and sighthound (track greyhound) breeds to refresh the gene pool.

About Flash
Rough Coated Dog. Flash is a light grey brindle. I brought Flash home with me from Britain in 2019. Flash was selected for me by her breeder, Jeff Burrell, as a foundation bitch. Flash's sire is "Flint" and her dam is "Rachel". She is a linebred dog on old English bloodlines with outcrosses to working and sighthound (track greyhounds and english deerhounds) breeds to refresh the gene pool.

Ashir Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Salukis.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
