I'm Mary M., the breeder behind Aus Dem Norden GSP’s located in Wahpeton, ND. Our puppies are great hunting, show, performance, and family dogs. All of our breeding stock has health clearances with OFA for hips, cardiac, elbows & eyes. Cone Degeneration DNA clearance for day blindness. They also have their OFA CHIC certifications and DNA testing for other health concerns. If you are looking for the perfect, quality family companion, look no further!
When we do have puppies they are born & raised in our dining room, not out in a kennel building.
We raise our puppies following the Puppy Culture program, plus many other outside influences.
Q. & A. with Mary
Why did you start breeding?
After studying the German Shorthaired Pointer standard, I decided that the close to perfect dog would be strong, medium-sized, very birdy, and has a drive that can hunt all day! It is such an honor to preserve the line of these incredible dogs all the while creating companionship for others.
What makes your program special?
German Shorthaired Pointers are my passion, and I am devoted to doing whatever I can to preserve, protect, and improve this incredible breed. I health test all of my dogs, and they live with me as part of the family. When preparing for an upcoming breeding, I plan for years what dog is going to be bred to which dog. My priority is quality over quantity and my puppies are placed in loving homes that I have reviewed carefully. I look forward to connecting with you!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are liver roan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
