I'm Kasey B., the breeder behind Bar Rafter C Shorty Jacks located in Valley Mills, TX. At Bar Rafter C we love our Shorty Jack Russells. We feel like they are the perfect mix of fun and cuddles. We prefer to raise our litters in our home to accustom them to the sights and sounds they may experience in yours. At BRC we like to say that you are guaranteed to get a pre-loved puppy!

Why did you start breeding?
We started breeding Shorty Jacks after we bought our first Shorty, Dally. We absolutely fell in love with the breed and decided we wanted to help others experience that love too.What makes your program special?
We absolutely LOVE our dogs. They are members of our family just as much as they are a part of our breeding program. Almost all of our dogs will remain in our home forever, even after they are retired.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Price
"The price includes registration with AKC and/or EJRTCA, the first round of puppy shots, regular deworming, dewclaw removal and tail docking. Deposits are non-refundable unless the puppy becomes unplaceable due to health."

Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA), DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
