I'm Barbara L., the breeder behind Barbie's Barbets located in New Bedford, MA. We are offering our second and final litter of rare Barbet puppies to strengthen the breed in the U.S. Our sire has a Champion lineage from Canada (CKC & UKC), and our Dame is from Georgia (AKC & UKC). Both have strong health histories, ensuring healthy, intelligent, and well-socialized puppies for loving homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got involved in breeding my Barbets after my Vet, impressed by the breed's qualities, encouraged me to breed my exceptional Dame and Sire. Having never seen a Barbet in all her years, she recognized their uniqueness. I believe it'e crucial to preserve and continue the bloodline of this ancient breed for future generations to enjoy.~B,Léger

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes my breeding program special is the love and care we give to our dogs. Our Dame, Paisley, and Sire, Frenchy, are cherished family pets treated as royalty. The puppies will be born in a specially designed spare bedroom for their safety and comfort, where I'll sleep alongside them. This is not a business for us--it's a true labor of love.~B.Léger

    Our puppies include brown, black, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Barbara

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

The higher price reflects strict breeding rights,. A deposit is required when you secure your puppy at time of puppies birth, with the remaining balance due when the puppy is 7wks old.”

    Barbara was wonderful to work with during our search for a Barbet puppy. She’s very knowledgeable about the breed and provided us with everything we needed to bring our Milton home.
