Meet the breeder

I'm Courtney B., the breeder behind Barnes GSPs located in Piedmont, SC. We are a family of 4 in love with GSPs. Our two, Toby and June are fun loving and great family and hunting dogs. The German Shorthaired Pointer is a hunting breed. They have a lot of energy and love to run.

Q. & A. with Courtney

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got our male, Toby, 8 yrs ago. We fell in love with the breed, so we got a female 3 yrs ago. We have two children who also love both dogs, and we wanted to experience breeding them so others could come to love this breed as we do. They are great family dogs. They love to hunt the outdoors and to run wide open.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small-time breeder. We take care to make sure our puppies are healthy, well taken care of, and well socialized. We have one litter at a time with only two GSPs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include liver and white and liver roan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
