I'm Lesa B., the breeder behind Barnett’s Rambling Terriers located in Cumming, GA. Our program was built with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and we want our program to be an example of how to responsibly breed high-quality, healthy dogs. We strive for the BEST and love our dogs dearly!
Q. & A. with Lesa
Why did you start breeding?
I was raised on a farm with bluetick coon hounds, and mountain feist. My dad and I showed in UKC National Hunts. I fell in love with the smaller mountain feist, and wanted a smaller dog for my children. When Ginger arrived sight unseen as a rat terrier, we discovered she was a Type B rat terrier aka a Teddy Roosevelt Terrier and our adventures began. It was love at first sight!
What makes your program special?
The first AKC Breeder of Merit and a preservation breeder,We worry about quality over quantity! Excellence in conformation, health, instinct, well round member of your family is what we strive for! We compete in Conformation and performance in AKC. Our dogs have tried BarnHunt, FastCat, DockDiving, and we have some that have Therapy dog titles. We have 10 AKC CM titled dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and chocolate, white and blue, silver and white, white and sable, white and black, chocolate and white, sable and white, blue and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?

Lesa was consistently responsive and very knowledgeable about the breed. She provided a wealth of information about the the breed, the puppies, and their genealogy. She kept me updated with pictures and pertinent information on the puppies. The best part about interacting with Lesa is that she has a genuine love and passion for the breed and her dogs. I am excited about the next phase of our life with our new pup!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
