Why did you start breeding?
I began in GSPs with my late friend, who mentored me in dog shows, and breeding practices. When she was unable to physically care for her dogs, I continued what she had started. Our program is named in her honor, and we hope that our principles are reflective of that as well.What makes your program special?

Each puppy produced from Bequest is sold with a guarantee to be free of inheritable disease. We are so committed to the dogs that we produce that if ever you are unable to care for your dog, we will take it back, and ensure it is safe and loved.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Favor
As far as GSPs go, Favor couldn’t be any easier if she was a stuffed animal! She is one of our intro dogs due to her fair, and even keel social nature. She is trustworthy under pressure, in new scenarios, great with small children, the elderly, and confidently self assured without being pushy or dominating. She has been a pleasure to hunt with, and has a naturally clean style, all while maintaining that long sought after “off switch” in the home that can be difficult to find in a Shorthair. She was ranked nationally in conformation at only 1 year of age, and has been long praised by breed experts for being a prime example of the German Shorthair.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Lupoid Dermatosis (LD), Agouti DNA Test, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Cone Degeneration, German Shorthaired Pointer Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
