I'm Lisa S., the breeder behind Prosperity Point Gundogs located in Lancaster, KY. We focus on ethically breeding exceptional dogs that can excel as hunting dogs, sport, service or working dogs that also make great family companions. We breed each litter of puppies with the goal of superior temperament, health, conformation, movement, and the natural ability with strong hunting/working drives. We take great pride in our dogs, and they produce outstanding puppies.
Q. & A. with Lisa
Why did you start breeding?
I found the Wirehaired Vizsla several years ago and fell in love with it. They are hard driving hunter and worker but calm quiet companions in their off time. I listened to a breeder from their native land and her description was exactly what I was looking for. I purchased one from her and a few years later purchased a second. Because these dogs are capable of doing just about anything with an off switch, I wanted to share it with the US. It is considered a rare breed and few are here in the states.
What makes your program special?
I raise puppies using early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction, and expose them to a wide range of noises and environments that they wouldn't get with a traditional hunting breeder. I also want to facilitate exposures that would make them a good working dog potential for detection and/or search and rescue.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are golden rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
