I'm Nico I., the breeder behind Blackfire Kennel located in Southport, NC. I offer top-quality Chihuahua puppies for families who share the same love and passion that I do for these lovely companions. I hand-raise all of my dogs with love in my home. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one with an enriching and loving family complementary to their personality and ability!

Why did you start breeding?
My mentor in chihuahuas saw the passion & knowledge I have and wanted me to learn how to be a reputable breeder as the next generation.What makes your program special?
We breed for drive, temperament, and conformation. We believe firmly that form follows function- meaning that we want dogs who function properly, and if they function as they should the form should follow, you shouldn’t have one but not the other. We also health test through OFA & Embark, and our puppies are raised with puppy culture.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
Getting a puppy from Nico
Nico has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
“Includes: AKC registration, microchip, UTD on vaccines & worming, a health certificate, and some things to help the puppy settle in. There is a $500 non refundable deposit that will be paid at 6wks of age, after the puppies have been temperament tested. This deposit will go into the final price of your dog.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Mars
Mars is a male Beauceron about 7 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Nico decided to make him part of their program. Nico has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
