I'm Lee P., the breeder behind Blue Grass Valley Chihuahuas located in Monterey, VA. After breeding AKC dachshunds, I was introduced to the quirky, tiny Chihuahua and fell in love. My mission is to provide healthy, well adjusted pups! They are raised with 3 other dogs cats, ans a parrot and lovebird in my home, and accustomed to all types of noise! The parents of the pups offered at Blue Grass Valley Chihuahuas are my pets!

Why did you start breeding?
Frankly, I started raising long haired mini dachshunds so I would not ‘collect’ them for myself!! I feel similarly about Chihuahuas.What makes your program special?
BGV pups are raised in my home, with 3 other dogs, 2 cats and a noisy parrot. They are socialized with all but the parrot, with the exception of his occasional loud squawks!! Used to all types of household noise, they are introduced to outside in a safe fenced area! Each new pup is handled with love and care!What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Program update on 23 May •…BonBon is a sweetheart, affectionate, easy and uncommonly calm. His long coat is coming in nicely. He's begun potty training with pad and outside with his K9 family, and going up and downstairs, still needs more practice… Thiss little guy is accustomed to all tyoes of noises, and plays well with others. He will be a perfect companion!
