I'm David E., the breeder behind Blue Hill Gun Dogs located in Mankato, MN. Our dogs are bred with a focus on health, hunting ability, cooperation, and intelligence. We seek to provide dogs that are both excellent hunting partners and healthy family pets. We only place puppies into hunting homes, with preference given to those active in NAVHDA and AKC hunt tests.
Q. & A. with David
Why did you start breeding?
I have owned dogs all my life and after acquiring Sage, I began to search for a suitable stud. After meeting Hank, I knew he was the one for her. I wanted other people to enjoy dogs with their qualities so I made the decision to become a breeder.
What makes your program special?
I'm working to produce high-drive, intelligent, healthy dogs that are cooperative and have stable temperaments with great off switches. Dogs that are both great hunting partners and outstanding family pets. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one in an enriching and loving home that will match their temperament and personality. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
