“Picking a puppy. Most families assume it will always go in order of deposits received. Not necessarily, there is a lot to consider in picking your puppy: color, sex, size and personality. I generally let everyone pick their own puppy. I will be looking at personalities of each puppy after they turn six weeks old and will make suggestions as I see the puppy’s interaction with each other and their individual personalities. I will see which is the dominate male and female, which puppies are a little more reserved, which puppies will make for a promising hunting companion. For example: If you live in an apartment you would not want the puppy who is very needy who whines constantly when you leave the room. If you are planning on hunting with your puppy you would not want a timid puppy. If therapy work is in your pup’s future you would want a middle of the road personality puppy. As you can see, I have a lot to evaluate on these puppies. I certainly do not want to place a puppy I feel will be the best for a hunting companion with the family with a new baby who just wants a calm puppy. Some families have very active lifestyles and others do not. An aloof puppy should not be placed with a very active family. I do not want to place a dominate male in a home with a very timid toy poodle or a first-time puppy owner. In order for me to make recommendations as to which puppy would be a good fit for your family, I will need each family to tell me all about what their life will look like with their new puppy. The things I will take into consideration while evaluating the puppies are; The ages of your kids, new baby on the way, hunting companion, pet only, most calm, swimming, boating, traveling, lake living, other dogs, cats or animals in the home, dog parks, dog cafe's, fenced yard, acreage, retired, Farm, working, crate trained, therapy dog, active lifestyle, hiking, camping, shed hunting, single family home, elderly in the home, apartment living, condo living........etc. Evaluation all based on the information you tell me about your home life and what your life will look like with your new puppy.
