Briarwood Dalmatians

Courtney K.

Breeder of Dalmatians

Meet the breeder

I'm Courtney K., the breeder behind Briarwood Dalmatians located in Wytheville, VA. Our dogs well-being is our first priority. We strive for healthy, well-tempered, and good conformation dogs. We take it as our responsibility to better the breed and ensure we are giving each dog the best opportunity in life. Finding the perfect home for our puppies is what makes everything worth it!

Q. & A. with Courtney

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started breeding because I wanted to make a difference for the Dalmatian breed. We had only two Dalmatians that came into our clinic, one was a long coat male and the other was an awfully bred female Dalmatian, who was pregnant. After seeing that, I wanted to help make a difference.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed for health, temperament, and conformation. We are breeding for LUA (low uric acid) so the lucky puppies that inherit that gene will not have to be on a special low purine diet to avoid bladder/kidney stones.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
