Meet the breeder

I'm Jen C., the breeder behind Cabeza Grande Kennel located in Pocahontas, IL. Established in 1998, Cabeza Grande Kennel is a small, dedicated kennel interested in improving the state of the Presa Canario in the United States. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, working ability and conformity to true Spanish Presa Canario type. We strive for the “total” Presa. We offer breeding services, as well as puppies for sale. Should you decide to buy a puppy from us, we would like to thank you and welcome you into our Presa Canario family!

Q. & A. with Jen

  • Why did you start breeding?

I met my first Presa at a training club I worked at and fell in love. As I got involved in the breed community and working sports, I realized I could help the breed improve by testing, training, titling dogs and using those in my selection process.
  • What makes your program special?

Since 1998 we've dedicated ourselves to breeding only tested dogs. We have more titled dogs of the breed than anyone else in the USA. But more importantly, it is our commitment and support for buyers. This breed isn't for everyone and once someone purchases, they need support and follow up. Our 24/7 access to advice, private puppy communities and a 3 year guarantee ensures buyers are taken care of.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, fawn, and tiger. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

If you want a presa there is no place in the US to get one aside from Jenn and Cabeza Grande. My new best friend, Larry, is a perfect example of what ethical and thoughtful breeding can do. He is the sweetest boy, incredibly intelligent, and of course, very handsome. He is pure joy. Jenn is so responsive and so willing to answer your questions- I’ve found my new my best friend in Larry and a wonderful guide in Jenn.

Jen has been a great resource. She knows a ton about the breed and she always responds to questions. My puppy is healthy, stable, and a sponge when it comes to learning. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Cabeza Grande Kennel.

We as a family could not be happier with our purchase of our Presa from Jen C. Working with Jen was a great experience... Very fast to respond and answer questions you may have about your puppy. I found this breeder after doing my due diligence on the Internet. Jen will be honest and tell you what puppy will fit best in your life. Depending on if you want a working, show, guardian, etc. Cabeza Grande- I would have to agree after researching breeders. These Presa's at Jens Kennels are solid dogs! They have huge skulls and athletic built, which is the way I believe they should look. Thank you Jen C. At Cabeza Grande Kennels! Joshua Kerley Tiger Lilly aka Tilley's owner

Jennifer has been and still is very responsive. She is very quick to answer text messages and is so very knowledgeable! Having access to her wealth of knowledge has truly been a blessing. The puppy I chose, I named Iballa, is absolutely what I was expecting! She is strong willed, but very eager to learn and please. Overall it was a wonderful experience working with Jennifer!
