I'm Marc G., the breeder behind California Drents located in El Cerrito, CA. We strive to breed the healthiest and happiest Drents anywhere. We selectively breed to produce high-quality pups for our buyers! We breed with bloodlines distinct from other North American breeders. All of our studs are from the Netherlands or Belgium. We love our pups and know you will too!

Why did you start breeding?
In 2013, I traveled to the Netherlands to pick up Claire, the foundation of my kennel. She is sweet, smart, beautiful and works in the field like nobody's business. She is also healthy with "excellent" hips and normal elbows. In 2016, Claire and I returned to Europe so she could be bred to Ferron, an exceptional male. That breeding produced six healthy pups, including Gracie.What makes your program special?
Our focus is health followed by conformation and hunting aptitude. We breed only with dogs that meet health standards and do not make exceptions or excuses for abnormal hip or elbow test results. This doesn't mean that we sacrifice conformation. The only North American bred Drent to receive an "excellent" conformation score from a qualified Dutch judge is California Drents' Yosemite.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
