I'm Rebecca K., the breeder behind Cedar Creek Portuguese Water Dogs located in Lakeview, MI. I'm the manager behind Cedar Creek Portuguese Water Dogs located in Lakeview, MI. I have been showing, training and breeding dogs/horses all my life. Emphasis was placed on studying pedigrees, bloodlines and genetic traits while DNA testing wasn’t available in earlier life. However, it is still important because conformation/stucture and temperaments are just as important as genetic health testing.

Why did you start breeding?
My interest in showing and breeding dogs originally started in childhood while growing up on a hobby farm with my mother raising and showing Great Danes. Our top dogs titled as American, Canadian and International Champions, at that time. This fascination with showing/breeding stuck and carried into young and middle adulthood of today.What makes your program special?
We strive for quality healthy well rounded puppies with good temperaments. Parents are genetically tested, have excellent temperaments and present themselves as a great Ambassador to the breed. It is important for us to give them the best start in life. They start with ENS early neurological stimulation, and are well socialized and desensitized gained from our knowledge using Avidog/Puppy Culture.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Storm
Storm has an AKC and CPC Registration/Certification (Club Portugues De Canicultura - she is imported). Storm has had all her genetic health testing and is CHIC certified through the OFA, as well as her AKC DNA profile. Storm is a brown girl weighing 45 lbs. Storm has very good conformation and temperament. She is an excellent Frisbee dog and has been in training for the water dog trials and dock diving events, as well as, other AKC activities.

About Jagger
Jagger is a Black Wave with a small white star on his chest. Jagger loves play and we sometimes find ourselves calling him JS Tigger because he loves to jump up on his hind feet and bounce across the yard sometimes. Jagger was a Covid puppy, but we have started showing him in conformation and hope to pick up in the water dog trials a little this summer. Jagger is also CHIC certified through OFA.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
