I'm Alexandria E., the breeder behind Chester Hill Farm located in Middlebrook, VA. I am committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. Our hope is to prepare each of our puppies with thoughtful socialization so they have the best foundation to seamlessly transition into their new homes.

Why did you start breeding?
It truly just happened. I fell in love 6 years ago with my male Chester, that love has only grown. Not only is he a wonderful family pet, but he loves having a job and has always been so eager to learn. I wanted to put him up as an available stud and was unable to find a female within our geographical footprint I was comfortable. That is what lead to me finding a female of my own, Willow. She has definitely completed our family!What makes your program special?
I believe what makes our program special, is that I and my son genuinely care about our babies as well as the families they go home to. I will always be up front and honest with you about each puppy. Once you have decided on the pup that is right for your home, I will send you weekly updated photos. You will get progress updates on socialization, what new things we have learned and anything else you'd love to know!Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Litter update on 08 Feb •…Pupdate! We welcomed 11 sweet puppies today! Willow was a champ and is resting when she can. All pups are eating well and looking healthy. I will continue to send updates as we check how many males and females we have.

Chester Hill Farm reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Wirehaired Pointers.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
