Meet the breeder

I'm Alysha T., the breeder behind Cirnef and Meriden Lakelands located in Norfolk, VA. Our Lakelands are raised in our family home, never in a kennel environment. Our adult dogs compete in AKC Conformation and Junior Showmanship competitions and are active, loyal members of our family. As such, they are well accustomed to our children, adult dogs, and cats. They receive age appropriate vaccines and vet checkups as they mature until they are ready to head to your home. We are proud members of the AKC Breeder of Merit program, as well as our breed club, the United States Lakeland Terrier Club (USLTC). We do not currently screen for any genetic health issues, as Lakeland Terriers are such a healthy breed that both the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) do not currently require routine health screening for any genetic health issues. If and when that ever changes, we will happily comply with canine professionals and breed experts opinions’. Our dogs’ health and happiness is our top priority. What makes your program special?
No other Lakeland Terrier breeder has this much exposure to young, experienced children from birth. It’s so important to acclimate terriers to children when they are young. We have the ability to do that and do it well.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red grizzle, red, grizzle and tan, grizzle, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Alysha

Alysha has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Alysha partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“We start matching puppies to their homes between 6-8 weeks as their individual personalities become evident. We do take color and gender preferences into account but will always place the highest importance on our puppies’ individual temperaments being best suited to the lifestyle of our puppy buyers. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“We put a lot into raising our puppies to be healthy, well rounded family and performance dog companions. Note: $3500 is our base price. $4000 is only required if we must transport the puppy to you. Our deposits are due after your puppy application has been approved and is factored into the total cost of the puppy, (i.e. once the $500 deposit is paid, only the remaining $3000 is due upon pickup) any travel costs will be laid out at the time of deposit.”

Alysha may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Raven
Raven is very outgoing and affectionate. She loves to meet new people. She has attended multiple AKC Meet the Breed events and is a crowd favorite. She is crate trained and well traveled via both plane (cargo and in cabin) and car rides. Raven loves to play tug. She gets along well with other well mannered dogs and is respectful and trustworthy with our house cats. She does well with children of all ages. Raven is in standard for the breed and very recently received her AKC championship and an Award of Excellence at the American Kennel Club National Championship in December 2025.

About Hamilton
Hamilton has the temperament of an average intact Lakeland Terrier male. He is very affectionate but does have a strong preference for a few of his favorite people. He is very cuddly and loves to be held like a baby. He does not do well with other assertive males but gets along well with the neutered males and female dogs in our household. Hamilton is okay with cats after an appropriate introduction period but he does have typical terrier prey instincts and cannot be left unattended with other intact males or very active cats. Hamilton is excellent with children and babies, as he has been raised and socialized with them since he was a puppy. Hamilton is of average size and has his AKC championship. He was notably reserve winner’s dog at the US Lakeland Terrier National Specialty in 2021.
