Meet the breeder

I'm Ruby R., the breeder behind Cloudshadow Kennels located in Patchogue, NY. We’re so excited to be able to help families experience the longtime loyalty of welcoming a new puppy into their lives! The sweet, loyal, and playful disposition of our dogs inspired us to begin responsibly breeding to be able to share them with others.

Q. & A. with Ruby

  • Why did you start breeding?

I didn't intend to breed. My dogs were meant to just be my pets. However, their temperaments continued to wow everyone who met them and they all wanted one of their own. Seeing this inspired me to breed so that I may provide well-tempered dogs for other people to enjoy and have for themselves.
  • What makes your program special?

I am extremely selective about who I breed and when I breed. I aim for early year litters that way the weather makes it easier for house training and socialization. My dogs are all well socialized and their temperaments are among the best!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Poodle puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Chihuahua puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Chihuahua puppies include merle, cream, chocolate sabled fawn, blue and tan, and chocolate and tan. Poodle puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
