I'm Velvet C., the breeder behind Coachside Dalmatians located in Maryville, TN. I breed, raise, train, and show my Dalmatians and strive for beautiful and healthy Dals with sound dispositions. Extended pedigrees are studied closely to eliminate any Dals that have produced health or disposition issues. My Dals have been very successful in the ring as well as their offspring.
Q. & A. with Velvet
Why did you start breeding?
I've had Dalmatians all my life. My Dad bought my first Dalmatian when I was age 5. The majority of Dals I had growing up were rescues. It was a family affair for us to take our dogs to training at Oak Ridge Kennel Club. I got interested in showing a few years after graduating from college when I got a Green Starr Dal that came from a long line of Champions.
What makes your program special?
I strive to breed beautiful, healthy, and sweet Dalmatians. I was mentored by 3 well know foundation breeders Sid (DVM) & Frances Remmele Tuckaway Dalmatians, Dr .David and Margie Doane Green Starr Dalmatians, and Emily Hoover Atlantis Dalmatians. My litters are home raised, socialized with puppy parties of adults and children. My Dals are OFA health tested beyond what is required by the National Club for CHIC.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and liver brown and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Brighton, dad
Dalmatian
About Brighton
Brighton has OFA CHIC health testing. His Sire GCH Chelsea Hollytree JLS Camden, ATT, CA is a proven sire of several litters with multiple champions and performance title Dals. Brighton was off to a great start in his show career when I had a bad fall resulting in two full tears of my rotator cuff, which I was unable to continue training and showing. I'm 10 months post opt from surgery and still unable to train and show, but once I'm healed I plan to restart training and showing. Brighton sire was frozen semen litter imported from Best in Show top winning Dalmatian in England. His Dam CH Coachside Palmer of Tuckaway is a specialty winning Dal with several puppies accomplished in show, performance, therapy and companion puppies. The extended pedigree includes many Champions and Grand Champions with OFA CHIC health testing.

About London
London has OFA CHIC health testing. Her sire GCH Chelsea Hollytree JLS Travelin Across the Pond is a proven sire with International, Grand Champion, Champion, and pointed puppies. Her Dam GCH Coachside Americas of Starwood is a specialty winning and proven dam of show, performance, therapy, and companion puppies. The extended pedigree has a long line of OFA Health Tested, Best in Show, Best in Specialty Show, Champion and Grand Champions. London was off to a great start with Best of Breed win from the classes, Winners and Best of Opposite Sex. Unfortunately, London was run up in the ring by an electric wheelchair that negatively impacted her. Subsequently, I had a bad fall two full tears on my rotator cuff and 10 months post opt and still unable to train or show my Dals until I fully heal.
