I'm Dan C., the breeder behind Coomore Boerboels located in Ohio. Boerboels: Our Kennel originally started in 1990 in Ireland before moving to South Africa and now here in the USA. It would be tough to find a kennel name that has been operating that long and we are very proud of it, and there is a reason for it. We commit ourselves towards preparing each one of our puppies to thrive in their new homes, and we enjoy working with their new families so that they can raise their beloved companions with confidence!

Why did you start breeding?
I was given the breeding program by a great friend James Brennan in South Africa. James had asked me to carry on his legacy of Coomore Boerboels. James was a dear friend and one of the best mentors anyone could ask for.What makes your program special?
Our breeding program goes back over 20+ years and has over 1500 Boerboels in our pedigree software. Every puppy comes home with a pedigree showing his or her ancestors. We participate in puppy culture for our puppies and provide you a booklet as well in your take-home puppy package.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include reddish brown, red, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
