I'm Jackie L., the breeder behind Dal Cais Rat Terriers located in Concord, CA. I am a small hobby breeder of Rat Terriers. I show in AKC Conformation. Breeding, raising, and showing Rat Terriers is a long-time passion and I am so grateful to get to do this. I take great care with each breeding and put all of my energy into ensuring each and every pup is socialized, loved, and ready to thrive in any environment. Why did you start breeding?
It was a natural progression for me. I was lucky to have a wonderful mentor. Living with this incredible breed is a joy. This truly is my passion.
What makes your program special?
My personalized service. My lifelong relationship with my puppy buyers. The fact that I stand behind each and every puppy that I breed.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and red, white and chocolate, white and blue, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Jackie

Jackie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jackie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $600 non-refundable deposit and $1,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes limited AKC Registration. Health Records. Socialization/ENS/Elements of Puppy Culture. Lifetime support. Introduction to potty/crate training. Health/Temperament are a priority for me. Deposit is taken when you have chosen your puppy. Balance is due when puppy is picked up when pup is 8 weeks old.”

Contract & health guarantee

Jackie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Jackie offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Jackie directly.

Orla is a stunning 12 inch miniature girl. She is out of an AKC Champion & my bred by girl Niamh. She is a wonderful example of a "typy" Rat Terriers with excellent conformation. Friendly & loving - She is highly intelligent and has good prey drive. I am very excited about her very first litter & expect to see miniatures in the litter. Orla is a Blue & White Irishmarked.

Emer is a heavily marked Piebald with a lovely head , ear set & expression. She is highly intelligent & has good prey drive. Emer is proving herself to be an excellent mother to her puppies. She is attentive & loving & her pups will excel in anything they are asked to do.

Aoife is a stunning Rat Terrier. Standing 17 inches at the shoulder and weighing approximately 25 pounds. She has 2 majors and 10 points towards her AKC Champion title. Aoife is a superb athlete with excellent prey drive. She is loving & intelligent. She has a very sweet disposition. I am very excited about this litter. The EQUINOX LITTER produced outstanding pups from these two last year. We had Red, Chocolate & Black Piebalds & Irishmarked puppies.

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
