Meet the breeder

I'm Angela C., the breeder behind Daybreak Silken Windhounds located in Hanna, OK. Please find me now at my site daybreaksilkenwindhounds dot com. We built our program with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and well-being of this breed, and it is our goal to provide each dog that comes from our program a solid foundation of good health, neurological development, and loving care.

Q. & A. with Angela

  • Why did you start breeding?

Getting into breeding with this breed was really a natural progression for me. I fell so in love with the breed that I couldn't stop at just one and needed to know and learn as much as possible. I have a background with breeding and showing on the other side of the spectrum within the cat fancy, so it came naturally.
  • What makes your program special?

I put everything I have into my breeding program. I health test every dog I have before any breeding takes place. I will take a great dog out of my breeding program if I don't like what I see on health testing. I choose to use the best examples of the breed that I can for health, temperaments, and Conformation.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

From the very beginning, Angela was so communicative and helpful. She was always available to answer any of my questions, no matter how trivial they were! Angela was also incredibly organized when arranging the logistics of our puppy’s arrival to us. Everything went seamlessly. My family adores our Silken puppy, and we are so grateful to have met Angela. I highly recommend Angela to any prospective Silken “parents”—she is wonderful to work with, highly knowledgeable about the breed, and her puppies are beautiful, healthy, and have the sweetest dispositions!

I had an outstanding experience with Angela and cannot recommend her enough. From the very beginning, she showed exceptional communication and a genuine dedication to understanding my needs. She took the time to carefully match me with the perfect dog, Pocket, ensuring that our personalities and lifestyles were a match. What truly stood out was her willingness to go above and beyond even after the adoption process. Any questions or concerns I've had about Pocket have been met with prompt and thoughtful responses and sound advice. Her commitment to her dogs and their new families is evident in every interaction. I’m grateful for her guidance and support, which made bringing Pocket into my life such a joyful and seamless experience.

Working with Angela was really delightful. I could tell she cares a lot about the puppies and finding the best fit for each one. We ended up with Yeti, he is so sweet and silly. We love him so much.

Angela is so wonderful to work with. She always took the time to answer my questions even though she has a +4 hour time difference and I'd message her in the evenings. She did amazing work with the litter I purchased from and my pup was essentially house-trained and well on his way with socialization, not to mention the quality of breeding that went into her work, even at less than 4 months old the key qualities and traits of the Silken Windhound are obvious in my pup. The price point is entirely fair and worth it when you consider the quality of lineage put into her dogs and litters. You can always tell a reputable breeder from the rest because you are matched by the person who knows the dogs with the pup/dog that suits you instead of choosing from pictures and knowing nothing about the dog.

Working with Angela was great from the beginning. We talked a lot and got to know one another during the process, therefore allowing her to find the dog that would fit our lifestyle. We got to watch the puppies grow since they were born. She sent lots of updates and always answered my questions happily. We have a happy and healthy Silken that we love so much! I will always recommend Angela to anyone looking for a reputable breeder!

If I could rate Angela 1,000,000 stars I would! It has always been my dream to have a Silken and after doing hours of research decided that this breed would fit into our lifestyle, we began the research on the breeder process. Right off the bat Angela did her homework on us making sure we would be good candidates for one of her puppies (this is always a green flag!). You can absolutely tell her passion and responsible breeding practices through speaking with her. After the application process we flew to pick up our girl Helix! Angela was phenomenal at accommodating driving Helix to the airport etc. Once there she gave us all of the paperwork and did a fabulous job walking us through what each document was. Helix came chipped and with her first vaccinations. We have now had Helix for almost a year and could not be happier! Angela said she’d always be there for us if we ever had questions and that has proven true! She is a wonderful person and breeder and we are already planning to add another addition to our family soon and will 100% be going with Angela again. You can tell Angela truly cares for each and every one of her dogs and it is a pleasure to work with her! If you are looking for a Silken she is the perfect breeder for it, just be prepared to be overloaded with cuteness (her pups are absolutely adorable and well tempered!).
