I'm Diane L., the breeder behind D&D Hill Country Cockers and Chihuahuas located in Comfort, TX. Our breeding program stands out because of the personal attention we give to every detail of the journey. From researching breeding pairs and conducting health testing, to purposefully raising each pup with proper socialization and care, our goal is to help preserve this historic breed. Our puppies are raised in our home and socialized with household noises and attention from birth until ready to leave. We have many champions and have quality cockers. Many people raise their dogs in a barn but this is not acceptable for us. Our puppies are part of our family and this is how we raise them. As part of our family!!
Q. & A. with Diane
Why did you start breeding?
Actually this is my daughters passion. We joined together breeding cocker spaniels as a mother/daughter team. We love the personality and temperament of the cocker spaniel and feel they are awesome family pets.
What makes your program special?
I breed within my own lines and line breed to improve the breed. D&D has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Chihuahua puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Chihuahua puppies include black, cream, fawn, blue, and black and white. Cocker Spaniel puppies include silver, sable, buff, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
