I'm Christina V., the breeder behind Desert Stronghold Boerboels located in Pearce, AZ. We are passionate about breeding dogs with amazing temperaments and health, as well as preserving the Boerboel breed standard. All of our dogs are health tested (hips, elbows, and cardiac), DNA tested and live with us as a family. We are located in rural Southeast Arizona and live on over 40 acres. Our puppies have plenty of space to grow up in a farm setting.
We utilize scientifically proven programs to socialize puppies early, giving them the best opportunities to be the strongest mentally and physically. Puppies are introduced to early neurological stimulation, early scent introduction, exposure to new sounds, smells, objects, and experiences to help them progress through the first critical developmental phases. Puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks by a Professional Dog Trainer.
Our name, Desert Stronghold is derived from our location near the famous Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon mountains where Apache Chief, Cochise, found refuge for several years. Secondly, the definition of stronghold is a fortified place or a place of security. When paired with a Boerboel’s instinct and desire to guard and protect their family, Stronghold is very fitting. Finally, in Psalm 18:2 God is described as our Stronghold and Rock.
