I'm Sandra M., the breeder behind Diadem GSP's located in Schuylkill County, PA. We breed and show top-quality German Shorthaired Pointers. We focus on health, temperament, and adherence to the breed standard. We are dedicated to only breeding dogs that we know are excellent representations of the standard and will make a positive contribution to their line and to the families who love them. We care deeply about our dogs and puppies, and we want only the best for them and for our buyers.
Q. & A. with Sandra
Why did you start breeding?
For me, breeding goes hand in hand with showing. We show our dogs to prove their worth, how they hold up to the standard and temperament.
Breeding is where my heart is though! I thoroughly enjoy the entire process from selecting the right stud dog for my female, the pregnancy, birthing, raising the babies, and finally having our evaluation ... then finally seeing them go to their new families, some of that have been waiting a very long time!
What makes your program special?
I spend a great deal of time with the dam and her litter from birth until they leave. I have incorporated a program "Puppy Culture" which deals with Early Neurological Stimulation, Sound Stimulation, Home Sound Desensitization, Early potty Training, Crate Training, Leash work, Interaction with Adult Dogs, many toys, items to climb, Introduction to 7 different surfaces (fleece, vinyl flooring, stones, metal, grass, macadam, and plastic). Weather permitting we also introduce to pool. If winter, we still have them walk into a low container of water.
I believe we are doing a good job raising puppies because we are doing what we love.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
