I'm Mia (Makiko) N., the breeder behind Dolce Coco Chihuahuas located in El Sobrante, CA. Breeder of AKC Chihuahuas & Exotic Shorthair cats in San Francisco Bay Area. I strive to produce show-quality puppies with sweet temperaments. My current Chihuahua parents’ bloodlines come from champion kennels from Japan, Korea, Thailand, Russia and USA. My dogs are raised with raw diet.

  • What makes your program special?

    I invested into obtaining high quality Chihuahuas from top breeders in the world, including Japan, Thailand, Korea, Europe and USA. I strive to raise my dogs holistically, feeding them raw diet, using herbal remedies/supplements, and constantly studying anything related to better their health. Puppies are also raised with raw diet and kibbles, crate trained. I am also active in showing my dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include long and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate, black sabled silver, blue, blue fawn, chocolate and white, cream and white, fawn and white, red and white, chocolate and tan, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Mia (Makiko)

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $4,000 - $5,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“My puppies come from the top AKC champion bloodlines with amazing health and temperament. Puppies are raised with raw diet and freeze dried/ kibbles, plays with cats and litter box trained. The deposit will secure the puppy for the buyer until the delivery/pick-up of the puppies. If the buyer changes their mind, the buyer can apply the deposit to the next puppy he/she chooses.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

    I can't say enough good things about Dolce Coco Chihuahuas and Mia, the owner/breeder. She is hands down one of the nicest, most caring, most professional people we've ever had the honor of working with. Due to problems with a flight nanny company and a health scare in our family, there were a lot of unforeseen scheduling complications surrounding the pick-up of our beautiful puppy, Stella. But Mia had our back every step of the way; she defended us, comforted us, reassured us, and kept our puppy nearly a month past our scheduled pick-up date until we could get things sorted out. On top of that, she kept us regularly updated with lots of pictures and video of Stella, both alone and with her sibling. There was nothing we felt uncomfortable asking Mia and no question she left unanswered. Not only did we come away with a beautiful and healthy sweetheart of a puppy, we also feel we made a dear friend in Mia, and we hope to stay in touch with her for years to come. If you are considering bringing a Chihuahua into your home, you can truly do no better than Dolce Coco!

    Mia is such an amazing person and professional breeder. She answered all our question because we are new to the breed and she helped us navigate through the process of having Bailey joining our little family! She’s always responsive and very knowledgeable about Chihuahua. Most importantly, we can testify that her Chihuahua, especially Bailey, is so beautiful, well-mannered, calm, and delightful. If your stereotype for Chihuahua is they are small, barky, and sometimes mean to others, we can say it won’t be the case for Mia’s babies!     My wife and I have been in search of an apple head long haired chihuahua for quite some time and after a long search, we luckily were able to find Mia from Dolce Coco Chihuahuas on Good Dog. When we saw Domino’s picture, we immediately knew he was the pup for us. He has been with us for about 2 months now - he is healthy, energetic, has such an outgoing/silly personality, and better yet his temper is amazing! Mia throughout this process was everything we had hoped for. With all the questions we had about Domino, she didn’t hesitate to send us pictures and videos of him (we asked for a ton!) and she did not disappoint - she was very kind and confident about how she raises her amazing puppies! She has provided all the resources we needed to get Domino to us safely as we don’t reside in California, and it was best, due to our situation, to get a Nanny. Although we wished our experience with the Nanny could have been better (and please note this was totally out of our hands and not Mia’s responsibility), Mia did a PHENOMENAL job ensuring that Domino would comfortably arrive to us. Prior to receiving Domino, Mia would check on us consistently throughout the day to see if we had any updates from the Nanny. Mia made us feel comfortable throughout this process and answered all of our questions, even up till this day! She is an expert in what she does, and my wife and I felt Mia’s unconditional love and care towards her puppies and of course, our Domino. We are so happy to welcome Domino in our lives! We will continue to stay in touch with Mia as we had such an amazing experience with her (Dolce Coco Chihuahuas). Anyone who is looking for a new best friend, we 100% recommend. We also did re-name Domino to Keo, however we still kept the name Domino as his nickname! Thank you, Mia for everything! We hope we can meet you one of these days so you can meet Keo (Domino) again!

    Mia was easy to work with. I saw Mossimo on Monday dec. 30th and picked him up on Dec. 31. Good Dog made payment easy and the paperwork at pickup was easy. Mia cares for her dogs and I have been sending her regular updates.
