Dominion Farms Karakachans

Terri P.

Breeder of Karakachans

Meet the breeder

I'm Terri P., the breeder behind Dominion Farms Karakachans located in Moselle, MS. Our dogs are bred for guardian instincts, health, temperament, and conformation. We socialize them and introduce them to livestock as soon as they are walking. We assess and place our puppies according to personalities and the needs of the buyer. We want our pups to be set up for success from the start.

Q. & A. with Terri

  • Why did you start breeding?

When we discovered the Karakachan breed, we were intrigued. Once we acquired our first K, we were hooked. We learned how rare they were/are in the United States, and soon knew we wanted to help increase their numbers as well as improve the breed. It has been a joy of a journey!
  • What makes your program special?

With Karakachans still being relatively rare here, we are one of the few breeders who health/hip-certify our breeding K’s. We also perform Early Neurological Stimulation on our pups and place them according to their temperament/personality and the needs of the buyer. We strive to set both the pup and buyer up for success. We won’t place pups before 8 weeks of age, or later for inexperienced LGD (livestock guardian dog) buyers.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
