I'm Jean D., the breeder behind Duck Creek Poultry Place located in Laurel, IN. We are an exhibition poultry farm in Indiana. We use Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs to protect our poultry. We also have two pet goats. We have a lot of experience with adults and training puppies. We'd like our puppies to go to working farm families with livestock to protect.

About Lady
Lady is a female Great Pyrenees about 3 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Jean decided to make her part of their program. Jean has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Mia, mom
Great Pyrenees
About Mia
A.K.A. "Mia Fia" or "Momma Mia"
My husband and I bought Mia as a puppy from a fellow poultry breeder. She is not registered but is full blood Great Pyrenees. Her breeder has her mother, father, and grandmother as well as other related family members at his farm. When she was younger she was a little shy with strangers but as she has gotten older and met more people she has more confidence. She has a submissive personality and never causes any trouble. Mia is exceptionally sweet and kind and LOVES kids. Mia was trained by Sasha and was her companion for a long time. When we lost Sasha to old age it bothered Mia for several months but luckily Grace was able to stay with Mia and cheer her up. Mia is a very effective guard of the poultry areas at the creek and behind the house. She has helped train one of her female pups Iris too.
Good health testing
Hip Dysplasia Finals (OFA, PennHIP, BVA, SV, FCI).
Max, dad
Great Pyrenees
About Max
A.K.A. "Max"
Jake and I got a new male puppy in April 2018 from a breeder in MO. He was trained by Molly his first year at our farm in Kempton then went to the Laurel farm to finish his training and get exposure to our goats. Max is now fully trained and the leader of his pack. Max is fully AKC registered and from a breeder in MO with over 20 years experience. His mom's name is Sadie and his dad's name is Hank. Max's registered name is: Wilson's Pyrtection Maximus. Max is shy and wary of strangers but loves belly rubs from his family. He is protective of his area and his ladies. He has alerted us to stray dogs in the front yard on several occasions. He is always the first to let you know something is wrong. Right now Iris is his best friend and they play together a lot since they are both young dogs still. Max if a big boy and definitely would make anyone/thing that came to do harm think twice. He has matured into a great guard.
Grace, mom
Great Pyrenees
About Grace
A.K.A. "Gracie"
My husband and I jointly bought Grace from the same breeder I got my first Great Pyrenees puppy, Molly, from. Our first two adult Great Pyrenees trained Molly and it went so well we wanted to start another puppy from the same breeder. Unfortunately, that breeder no longer has a farm or Great Pyrenees. Grace was trained by Molly. Grace is fully registered and a half-sister to Molly. She is very affectionate and a natural at guarding. I've never had a puppy so easy to train and so reliable at such an early age. Grace was put full-time in with the birds (with Molly still with her) at about 9-10 months old. Grace has a similar personality to Molly which makes it hard to keep them together on the same farm. Grace lives with my husband and I on our farm and Molly lives with my parents on their farm. Both ladies want to be in charge of the pack. Grace loves kids and is very curious about the world around her. She isn't shy but is patient and not boisterous. Her partner, Samson, have become truly love birds and a real team. I've never had a male/female pair so "in love" and like a team as if they understand each other. You will often find Grace and Sam sitting out in the pasture together. Sam has learned a lot from Grace and acts more mature with having Grace around too. She often takes the night shift and sleeps more during the day where he usually is awake more often during the day.
Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Duck Creek Poultry Place reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Pyrenees.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
