I'm Kacye Y., the breeder behind Dynamite Rat Terriers located in Apple Valley, CA. I breed not just for show quality but also for healthy dogs with great temperaments. I care where my pups end up and want great homes for them! My pups come with a one-year health guarantee from health tested parents. I love this breed and hope to be a guardian of this breed for a long time.
Q. & A. with Kacye
Why did you start breeding?
When I got my first Rat Terrier and started showing, I was fortunate to meet some great breeders who mentored me. They encouraged me to do health testing and taught me a lot about this great breed.
What makes your program special?
My dogs are part of the family. I do show, but my goal is to raise healthy and happy dogs. I want them to go to wonderful, loving, life-long homes. I'm not against producing show quality pups but some of my best homes have been pet homes. A show career is just a small part of a dog's life. It's after the show career is over that is very important. I want them to have a great quality of life with humans that love them!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
