I'm Mark D., the breeder behind EastSideMarky located in Frederick, MD. Eastside Bullies is a Maryland-based XL American Bully kennel dedicated to responsibly breeding healthy, well-tempered dogs. Our puppies are raised with early socialization, veterinary care, and hands-on attention. We value transparency, responsible breeding, and lifelong support for every family.

Why did you start breeding?
I began breeding because I believe bully breeds are often misunderstood. Having felt misunderstood at times myself, that mission became personal. My goal is to raise healthy, well-socialized companions that help change perceptions while bringing families the same unconditional love, loyalty, and joy my dogs bring into my life every single day. Every puppy is raised with care, purpose, and heart.What makes your program special?

Getting a puppy from Mark
Mark has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Mark partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Our pricing reflects ABKC registration, veterinary care, vaccinations, deworming, a health guarantee, early socialization, and lifetime breeder support. A $1,000 non-refundable reservation fee is required to reserve a puppy. The reservation fee is applied toward the total purchase price.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Ichthyosis, American Bulldog Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
