I'm Tracey S., the breeder behind Elysium Fields Chihuahuas located in Canton, OH. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. We raise our litters in our home to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies to transition well into their forever homes. Why did you start breeding?
Before Chihuahuas I used to breed Yorkies. I started breeding because I found it was hard to find a puppy that was healthy without paying a ton of money. I wanted to change this so people had a cheaper option without sacrificing health. I focused on the genetic background and health testing of my dogs. For me the most rewarding part of breeding is seeing my puppies thrive in their new homes.What makes your program special?
Breeding my dogs is my hobby, not my job. I’m a vet tech and I am constantly learning new technologies and techniques that I apply to my own dogs to better improve their health and how they are raised. I offer lifelong support on all of my puppies and will help you in any way I can. We breed apple heads and deer heads, smooth and long haired with a variety of colors.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Tracey partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+8It was wonderful working with Tracey at Elysium Fields! Our chihuahua puppy has a remarkable personality. After being home with us for two months, he has proven to be well socialized, fun-loving, affectionate, healthy, and adaptable. He is eager to please and came home already mostly trained on puppy pads. Tracey is knowledgeable and fast to respond to questions. She provided photos and videos of our puppy in the weeks before we brought him home. Tracey made sure the transition to home went smoothly; she sent a starter kit with puppy food, treats, toys, familiar-scented blanket to ease his anxiety.
