Mandi M.

Breeder of Dalmatians

Meet the breeder

I'm Mandi M., the breeder behind Empire Kennels located in Saint Joseph, MO. Our dogs are bred for health and temperaments with a focus on structure and conformation. We are dedicated to providing our families with wonderful, healthy family pets. Puppies will go to new homes with limited papers unless going to an approved show home.

Q. & A. with Mandi

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding when I was 18. I used to show and breed Dalmatians. I loved showing and started breeding when I wanted to carry on my lines.
  • What makes your program special?

In my Program, all of my puppies are exposed to Early Neurological Stimulation. I believe by doing this families get puppies that have had the best start to life. All my puppies are raised in the house exposed to everyday living. So they get daily socialization.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and liver brown and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Excellent level

Empire Kennels reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dalmatians.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
