I'm Eleanor G., the breeder behind Fyrehouse Dalmatians located in Goleta, CA. The Dalmatian is one of the few breeds that have the ability to learn "any trade." However, they really have been bred to run for long distances. Thus daily exercise is important. Fyrehouse Dalmatians have excellent reach and drive. Early socialization (during the first 8 weeks) is vital to their successful lives. The portion of heredity governing temperament is right next to health in our breeding considerations.
Q. & A. with Eleanor
Why did you start breeding?
My first Dalmatian had such a delightful, calm temperament, I wanted to have a litter of pups to share with others. That began the saga of 17 years which has been a joy!
What makes your program special?
Like all good breeders, support to new puppy owners is a vital part of the process. Many are friends (almost family) and have returned to Fyrehouse Dalmatians for another pup after years of happiness with their first pup. That is such an accolade for a breeder!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
