I'm Susan H., the breeder behind Grace & Glory Chihuahuas located in Callao, VA. Our small program is very intentional. We raise healthy and confident furever companions in our home. Our focus is on health, structure, temperament, socialization and enrichment. Our puppies leave well-rounded and ready for life as cherished companions and many are well suited for performance.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I certainly never thought I would be the dog breeder type, yet here we are... My program is thoughtfully planned & and executed with the highest intention. Responsible breeding is necessary to preserve the beautiful breeds that we love and cherish so dearly.

  • What makes your program special?

    I have a strong focus on health, structure & temperament all founded upon dogs with exceptional beauty. Bringing together the best elements of this breed - cultivating exceptional quality. Our dogs are raised as holistically as possible. We feed our dogs organic, gently cooked food, formulated by our holistic veterinarian. We do this to send you home with the healthiest puppy possible.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, chocolate, fawn, black sabled fawn, blue, blue fawn, chocolate blue, and chocolate sabled fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Susan

Susan has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes guarantee, 8 week veterinary exam, age appropriate vaccinations, worming, socialization, enrichment, started potty training, registration, lifetime support and puppy pack. Deposit serves to hold a puppy for you. In the event you decide you do not want the puppy, you agree to forfeit your deposit in its entirety.”

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    am very fortunate to have two chihuahuas from Susan Hale’s Grace and Glory Chihuhuas. My experiences with Susan could not have been better and I now consider her a friend and mentor. Susan really listened to me to get a true understanding of my lifestyle, a feel for my other dogs and a clear sense of the life one of her pups would have with me. She did not try to push me toward a puppy whose temperament might not have been well suited.
