I'm Ian N., the breeder behind HaloHavenChihuahuas located in Helena, AL. All of our Chihuahuas are genetically tested prior to breeding and thoroughly socialized. They are taken to the vet regularly and most importantly we love them like family.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My mother was a dedicated Chihuahua breeder and exhibitor, and I had the privilege of assisting her throughout the years. Together, we developed and maintained exceptional champion bloodlines known for their quality, conformation, and temperament. I am committed to preserving and continuing the legacy of these distinguished bloodlines with the same high standards and dedication.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is built on generations of carefully cultivated bloodlines, with a strong emphasis on health, sound structure, temperament, and breed type. Drawing on years of hands-on experience alongside my mother, a respected Chihuahua breeder and exhibitor, I am dedicated to preserving and enhancing the quality and integrity of these exceptional lines. Every breeding decision is made with the goal of producing healthy, well-socialized Chihuahuas that exemplify the breed standard.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate, black and tan, chocolate and tan, and cream and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Ian

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Ian partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $800 non-refundable deposit and between $400 - $699 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
