Meet the breeder

I'm Tammy N., the breeder behind Happy Hollow Griffons located in Grangeville, ID. I am a small-scale breeder, allowing me to give each of my puppies, dogs, and breedings the proper care and attention they each deserve. I am dedicated to providing happy, healthy, and well-socialized pups for others to welcome into their family. I love my pups and know you will love them, too!

Q. & A. with Tammy

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband had fallen in love with this breed. Once he had found the one he wanted, he came home and asked what I thought about getting two and breeding them? Well, I knew it would be a dream come true for me, however, I wasn't sure yet how serious he was or was not. I explained that as much as I would love it, I wouldn't be able to do a good job for these pups if I was working full-time, running our house, and doing right by our kids and by him. So, he told me to quit my job and focus on kids, husband, and our wonderful pets. And here we are today. I am enjoying every bit of my new role.
  • What makes your program special?

I feel that my breeding program is special because of the daily training that they receive. The daily exercise and attention that they are able to have with me here everyday with them. Working with them and for them. I spend all the time needed and wanted with my Dam as she is delivering and nursing and we snuggle at night. I spend time introducing other people, animals, and smells to the pups very early on as well.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chestnut and gray and brown and gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I am so thankful that we found Tammy and Happy hallow Griffons. Millie (Clementine) is our first griff and I did a lot of research and interviewed several breeders before deciding to get one of Tammy’s puppies. You can clearly tell how much she cares for her dogs and how well socialized her dogs and puppies are. She is incredibly responsive to text messages and is very patient with all my questions. We are from MN and were unable to fly out to select a puppy, but Tammy gave us the time we needed to find our perfect fit. She sent us many pictures and videos and we talked on the phone about their personalities. Once we selected our new girl, she started calling her by her new name, Millie, to help ease the transition home. She drove to Spokane to meet me at the airport and made everything so simple. It was so wonderful meeting her and her son in person and finally getting to meet our new pup. Millie settled into our home right away. She has a phenomenal temperament, easy to train, and is a very confident puppy and over comes any new experiences with ease. I attribute this to her good breeding and first 8 weeks with Tammy. She has been with us for a month and has very few accidents in the house and was crate trained and sleeping through the night on day 4. Thank you so much, we are in love with our little girl and can’t wait to get her out in more adventures and into the field!

We had the absolute best experience with Tammy at Happy Hollow Griffons! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive and kept us updated constantly with pictures and information about the puppies. It was clear how much care and love she puts into raising them. We brought home our little guy, Hutch, and he has been nothing short of amazing—so well-tempered, smart, and loving. He fits right in with our family and does wonderfully with our two young boys. We couldn’t be more grateful that we came across Tammy and Happy Hollow Griffons. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a happy, healthy, and well-socialized pup!

We had our hearts set on finding a WPG for a while now & we happened to find Happy Hollow Griffons during our search for a puppy. From the moment we inquired to picking up our sweet girl, Tammy was responsive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We had many updates over 8 weeks & it was so exciting to see the pups grow. She drove to Boise to meet us & provided a little goodie bag for our pup! Redda has settled in nicely to our home & is the absolute sweetest girl. She’s smart, a cuddler, and has adapted well to her new environment. Tammy is an excellent breeder & we are so happy with our girl!

Tammy was wonderful. From the initial process to get on the waitlist, to bringing Boe home, she was responsive, answered all my questions, and worked closely with me to ensure a good match. Her care and attention for her dogs really shows, and I’m so happy to have Boe as part of the family now. He is inquisitive, curious, does well adapting to new environments and situations, all a testament to the hard work she put in before he came to me.
