I'm Randy S., the breeder behind Happy Valley Gun Dogs located in Roseburg, OR. We breed athletic Pudelpointers with fantastic temperaments that will make stellar family pets and companions in the field. We decided to start a responsible, in-home breeding program in order to produce quality hunting dogs that also fit into a home setting. We focus on breeding dogs that have the drive to keep up with our lifestyle, but also have amazing temperaments and can quickly adapt to a calm family setting.
Q. & A. with Randy
Why did you start breeding?
I have raised about every type of gun dog, but when a friend of mine said, “you got to see my pudelpointers, I said what is a pudelpointer”
From the time I seen them work I was hooked.
What makes your program special?
We strive for wonderful temperament in our dogs. Yes coat is important, yes drive is important, but temperament is superior to us here. We want our dogs to not only be great hunters during the day but part of our families at night. Temperament is the key
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
