Meet the breeder

I'm Diane D., the breeder behind HawkWillow Hounds located in Moxee City, WA. Our dogs are our passion! Our Coonhounds are bred for health, temperament, and conformation with particular emphasis on sound minds and bodies. We want to provide athletic, healthy, gentle companions for active homes.

Q. & A. with Diane

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got our first Coonhound in 2008, and have been in love with Black and Tan Coonhounds since then. We started with showing dogs and really learning the breed and what makes them so fantastic and unique. With the help of a fabulous mentor in the breed, we bred our first litter in 2014.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed infrequently, and carefully, choosing only the best combination. Our dogs have their CHIC numbers before being considered to be bred, and our puppies are raised lovingly in our home with a huge focus on early socialization. We strive to produce dogs that are true to the breed type in conformation, but also in temperament and personality.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
